Michelle Chia is the Head of Specialty Products Errors & Omissions (E&O) for Zurich North America, where she manages Profit and Loss for the Miscellaneous and Technology Professional Liability and Cyber portfolios. Prior to this appointment, she oversaw the national accounts and middle market underwriting teams for the East and South regions or the same group. Under her leadership the team experienced consistent double digit growth. She has specialized in this field for over a decade, and sets strategy through collaboration with Claims, Actuarial, and Product Development teams. Chia has presented on various panels nationwide on the topics of cyber and professional liability, and she has also provided continuing education classes to insurance brokers on those subjects. She is also a contributor to articles on current events related to cyber. Prior to joining Zurich, Chia specialized in technology errors and omissions, miscellaneous professional liability, and security and privacy liability as an underwriter at ACE USA. Chia is a member of the New Leadership Council for The Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is also the Global Ambassador for the Women’s Innovation Network (WIN) for Zurich North America. Chia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tufts University with a double major in economics and child development. She completed her Master of Business Administration at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in May 2018. She received her Registered Professional Liability Underwriter designation (RPLU) in 2010.
